I arrived in Pai yesterday by way of minibus from Chiang Mai. I got in around 3 pm, and began my search for a place to stay. This city, which is really a small town of 3000, is packed with Thai tourists. It was the setting of a Thai romantic film in 2006 and since [...]

Tribute to Same Same Guest House
The guest house i stayed at has been awesome, it is cheap, fun and in a great location. I spent a week here, and helped Robert, the guy who owns it, set up Wi-Fi and get some advertising out on signs about it. He treated me to a few free meals as payment, which was [...]
Revamp Progress
So close to being done with this revamp of the blog. Can’t get it to work quite right in Internet Explorer, so go ahead and download Firefox. It is better anyway. I worked on it during the day, when all you guys were asleep, but now it is late here, and mid-day there, so I [...]
Blog over-haul
Technorati Tags: Chaing Mai,work, travel I have spent a great deal of time over the past few days working online to update the back end of my blog, and to work on how it is displayed. I am not sure that this will be the final version, but for a while, it will work. I have [...]
Down time
I always find it interesting to spend a decent amount of time in a city when I am traveling. You get to know the local population, the local hangouts, even where the best prices can be found. Since I am currently spending a great deal of time in Chiang Mai, I have begun to learn [...]
Merry Christmas
Christmas in Thailand has been actually pretty decent. I got a great dinner with with an English guy I have become friends with, we sat around his cafe drinking wine and telling stories, while I ate pork chops and mashed potatoes. I even got some carols from the school kids singing last night!
Chiang Mai Update
I have found work here that will occupy me for at least the next 10-15 days. I am building a series of websites for a guy who is starting a network of companies simultaneously. I am getting paid about $700 for the work, plus 20% of the online profit revenue that the site brings in. [...]
Trekking and the end of that
Sometimes s*** happens. When Laura said she wanted to come with me to Everest, I was excited about the possibility. I encouraged her to meet me in Bangkok, but didn’t think that much more about it. I was a little worried about having a traveling companion because I had really enjoyed traveling by myself this [...]
Going trekking
Last post for 3 or 4 days. We are going trekking to ride elephants in the jungle!
Wat Doi Suthep
Today I rented a motorbike again and took off into the countryside again. Laura had to do some work this morning, so I went of by myself and made my way up into the mountains to Wat Doi Suthep, one of the largest temples around. It is on the side of a mountain, and overlooks [...]
Buy a Watch, Support my trip!
Always trying to make a buck or two… Fake watches are actually really good here, and I spent a few hours at a market tonight talking about buying bulk quantities of watches with vendors. If you are interested, visit benhanna.com/watches. Makes for good x-mas and birthday gifts…
In Chaing Mai
Traveling many hours in Thailand is usually a taxing experience that wears down even the most hardened of travelers (which I am not). This trip was different. We were so sick of being sick and hot in Bangkok, that we opted to pay a little extra for an air-con sleeper train for the 14 hour [...]
